How do I know if I need a therapist?

If you are caught in a cycle of negative thoughts about yourself and your life, feeling stuck in the space that exists between who you are and who you desire to be, are having a difficult time coping with life in general, or just need an objective person to help you gain perspective, you would benefit from therapy.

I have experience working with people dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, significant life transitions, managing chronic disease, issues related to sex/sexuality, relationship concerns, history of childhood adversity, racism and racism-related stress among many other presenting concerns. FAQ.

What should I expect from therapy?

You can expect to be welcomed as you are. I have worked with many types of individuals and am aware of how to meet you where you are and how to help navigate you toward your desired goals.

You can expect to be challenged and transformed. The challenge will come from identifying negative patterns and unlearning ways of thinking that have consistently led to negative behaviors and unhappiness. This will not be an easy process, but it will be rewarding as you begin to achieve your goals. I am committed to supporting you throughout this journey. FAQ.

Do you only see Black men?

I am committed to working with Black men specifically, but not exclusively. I am open to working with anyone desiring to improve their life. If you are interested in working with me, contact me and we can figure out whether I am a good fit for you as a therapist. If we realize that I am not best equipped to guide you, I am happy to assist you in finding a therapist to meet your needs. FAQ.
